Incline Dumbbell Press
How to do it
- 1
Set the bench to about 30° and bring the dumbbells to your shoulders.
- 2
Brace your back against the bench and press the weights up over your upper chest.
- 3
Lower slowly until you feel a stretch across the upper chest.
- 4
Press back up in a slight arc, finishing with the dumbbells above your shoulders.
Common mistakes
- Using too steep an angle.
- Shortening the range of motion to lift heavier.
Tips
- Pause briefly at the bottom to remove momentum.
- Keep your feet planted to stay stable on the incline.
