Dumbbell Bench Press
How to do it
- 1
Sit on a flat bench with dumbbells on your thighs, then lie back and bring them to chest level.
- 2
Press the dumbbells up until your arms are extended over your chest, palms facing forward.
- 3
Lower them slowly until your elbows are slightly below the bench, feeling a stretch in the chest.
- 4
Press back up, bringing the dumbbells toward each other without clanking them.
Common mistakes
- Dropping the dumbbells too fast at the bottom.
- Pressing with elbows fully flared out to the sides.
Tips
- Dumbbells allow a deeper stretch and let each side work independently.
- Kick the dumbbells up with your knees to get into position safely.
