Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press
How to do it
- 1
Sit on an upright bench with dumbbells at shoulder height, palms forward.
- 2
Keep your back against the pad and your core braced.
- 3
Press the dumbbells overhead until your arms are almost straight.
- 4
Lower them slowly back to shoulder height.
Common mistakes
- Arching the lower back off the pad.
- Lowering only halfway.
Tips
- Angle the elbows slightly forward rather than straight out to the sides.
- Stop just short of lockout to keep tension on the shoulders.
