How to do it
- 1
Set a bar at about waist height (Smith machine, rack or sturdy table).
- 2
Hang underneath with straight arms, heels on the floor and body straight.
- 3
Pull your chest to the bar, squeezing your shoulder blades.
- 4
Lower yourself slowly until your arms are straight.
Common mistakes
- Letting the hips sag.
- Not pulling the chest all the way to the bar.
Tips
- Bend your knees to make it easier; elevate your feet to make it harder.
- An excellent bodyweight back exercise for home workouts.
