Dumbbell Step-Up
How to do it
- 1
Stand facing a knee-height box or bench with dumbbells at your sides.
- 2
Place one whole foot on the box.
- 3
Drive through that foot to step up until you're standing on the box.
- 4
Step down with control and repeat.
Common mistakes
- Pushing off the floor with the back leg.
- Using a box so high the hip rises above the knee a lot.
Tips
- Keep the working foot on the box for all reps on that side.
- Great for single-leg strength and balance.
